Hello !
Congratulation for this important step in the project
development. You have done a good job with this
complete automated system for propellant production.
Hereâs my suggestions and questions:
1. The removable end cap, witch will blow-off in case
of accidental propellant ignition itâs a very good
idea. Take special care in his construction that the
axel that goes trough it or something else could not
block his movement.
2. Any manual intervention in the blast zone (gearhead
motor, o-ring, â¦) should be made with an empty
mixing drum.
3. The vacuum pump must be capable of almost
continuous operation and should deal with the water
vapours witch could condense inside.
4. If the installation will work on the launch site
the power consumption must be evaluated and see if
itâs available. I think insulation around the heated
tanks will help decreasing the power consumption.
5. Sorry if Iâm not at current with this fabrication
process but I wonder if all the water will be
eliminated in the process? You know there is some
salts witch in the crystallisation process could trap
water molecules inside the crystalline network, is the
case of KNO3 in this temperature and pressure
conditions?
Paul.
