Next time at the hangar I will bring a can of ablative
spray home for the manufacturers info.

If the very tip is homogenous and strong and
temperature resistant, there should not be a problem
with hi-temp epoxy/glass or phenolic/glass. Some form
of pressure/temperature cure will be necessary also.
