Good morning,
One of the down sides to fabricating our own airframe was that it would
be prohibitively expensive in composite materials to get the strength
needed for the motor casing.
If these tubes are so darned ugly what about using them as engine
casings only and building a lovely composite airframe over them?
They strength of the airframe would add a margin of safety to the
motor casings and the reduced pressure requirements would make
a composite airframe again attractive financially.

P.S. If it wasn't for the ridges we could use the engine casing as
the mandres for the airframe...
