[SS-VehDev] NC Matrix

I agree and after sending out the first matrix without
further explanation, I knew it would not be received
well.

The NC matrix was created to choose a concept for
construction with a great deal of knowledge and
background in NC construction.

Not needed were specific values for impact pressure,
stagnation temperature, etc.

What it showed, I believe, was that no single
construction method was outstanding of itself.

The matrix for the case, for instance, will have
Density, Tensile strength, additional processes like
heat treat-plating-autoclaving,materials cost per
case, weight per case, and the items currently on the
matrix.

One method of determining the material and mode of
construction is by legacy alone. This was used on the
Space Shuttle. It created a number of problems. A way
to protect the aluminum structure from intense
re-entry thermal effects was one. They added the tiles
to alleviate that problem. It worked, mostly.

So we could easily say at the outset what material and
construction technique we were to use and then solve
peripheral problems as they come up.

I believe it is better to make a sound system that
requires little or no additions for its primary
function, and little or no additions for secondary and
tertiary functions.

Awaiting some further analyses so we can incorporate
those results into further matrices.
